Well Set Layout of the Dissertation for Learners

The lay-out of a dissertation will change according to the subject material. Supervisors will be able to give advice on the dissertation sample most suitable to a student’s subject; there is no University standard lay-out. Students are advised to refer to look at recent theses in their department, or the library.

Rates should be specified precisely and may not violate the context where they are taken; the reasons for their use should be clear, that is, for the encouragement of an argument, or for ensuring the accuracy of a particular point, in order to indicate the particular style of writing. Students are particularly informed not to take pleasure in plagiarism (‘using the documents or ideas of another without due acknowledgement’). This will be severely reprimanded and may result in failure. Presenting other students’ are if it were one’s own is also plagiarism as well as cheating; this too will be severely reprimanded.

References must be specified accurately, at the foot of each page, at the end of the chapter or at the end of the dissertation example, according to a uniform pattern. The normal literary promotions of your research area should be observed. For assistance with these, consult your manager and the theses of previous research students. Essentially there needs to be consistency throughout the dissertation or dissertation in these matters.
